AppId is over the quota
Your big day is finally coming, first off congratulations on finding love! You have your venue picked out, you've tasted the food, and your DJ is all lined up. Now you get to have some fun and think of all the decorations for your big day. When you think of decorations at a wedding, people always think of the centerpieces. You've already spent a fortune on the rest of the wedding and centerpieces traditionally are given away during the reception. Well fear not, in this article you'll learn the techniques for creating a unique, inexpensive wedding centerpiece.
Sometimes people like to have centerpieces at a wedding with cut flowers, which look very beautiful. When the wedding is over though, the person who won the centerpiece is eventually left with a glass vase. Instead of having fresh cut flowers as a centerpiece, why not create a terrarium of real living flowering plants? Terrariums are very easy to create and you can decide exactly how they look to making them beautiful options for centerpieces at a wedding.
If you go to a florist and look at centerpieces you may end up spending anywhere from $50-$100 for each centerpiece. If you make your own terrarium centerpieces you can make one for close to half of that. Now that I've sold you on making a terrarium, here's how.
You first want to visit a Plant Nursery and see what plants you want to put in the terrarium. Since it will be for a wedding center piece I would recommend looking into flowers that fit into your theme. Next, visit a local craft store and have a look at the glass vases. You can have them either with a top, or no top. Personally I like the terrarium with no top for a wedding, as it gives you move room for height if you go with a taller flowering plant, such as an Orchid.
Once you have your plants and containers, all you need is gravel, moss, and dirt. First, put the gravel in the bottom of the container, about 1-2 inches deep. Next, cover the gravel or stones with the moss; this is to prevent dirt from coming through. Lastly, add the dirt or other substrate in your terrarium. Research the types of plants you want to use to make sure you use the correct substrate in the terrarium. For example, some orchids do better in a mossy substrate.
All that's left now is to plant your plants and add in whatever decorations you want. You want to build these terrariums pretty close to the actual wedding date to make sure they stay as close to how you designed it as possible. Plants can grow quickly in a terrarium so if you create the terrariums too far in advance, you could end up with plants larger than you envisioned.
Between when you create your terrarium and your wedding day, just make sure they get enough light and water. You'll now have a unique wedding centerpiece that will have everyone talking and fighting over who gets to keep it!
